Critical Care Transportation
University LifeLink Critical Care Team (CCT), is a critical care and pediatric ground transportation system offering assessment, stabilization, and transfer of adult critically ill or injured patients and high-risk obstetrical patients. LifeLink transports more than 4,000 patients each year, providing service to community hospitals, rural clinics, and other facilities of the Rocky Mountain region and surrounding states.
As a partnership between the University of Colorado Hospital and Rural/Metro Ambulance, LifeLink Critical Care Team understands the importance of high standards. To maintain our status as an exemplary provider, LifeLink actively participates in continuous quality improvement monitoring and evaluation in order to provide the best service within our capabilities. The team supports the acquisition of knowledge through research and the maintenance of knowledge through continuing education.
LifeLink is committed to providing excellence in the comprehensive quality of care and continuity of care provided to each patient during the transport process. The program strives for unequaled levels of safety, professionalism, training, and quality of care offered by transport personnel.
LifeLink consists of a three (3) person team: an EMT-Basic, EMT-Paramedic, and a Registered Nurse. Having an extra pair of qualified hands working on a patient is invaluable to patient care. With three people, the team is capable of caring for higher acuity patients.
Our staff is trained in the use of multiple medications commonly found in the critical care environment. Vasopressors, sedatives, paralytics, and antibiotics are just a few of the classes of medications the LifeLink paramedics and RNs receive training in.
The Lifelink CCT unit is prepared to transport NICU isolettes, IABP and LVAD devices.
